These are liberty related events throughout Kansas.   Some of the events on our calendar may not be official LPKS events.  We allow events that are related to Liberty to be included on the LPKS Calendar as long as the posting is suitable for all ages and respectful of the liberty of others and does not directly support other political parties.   All events here are open to the public and you need not be a registered Libertarian to attend any of these events.

    3rd District Libertarian Dec Meeting

The Third District Libertarian Party of Kansas December Meeting is at

    Bo Lings
    8973 Metcalf Ave
    Overland Park, KS 66212
    From 6:45 PM - 8:45 PM
    On December 23, 2017

Upon entering, either ask where the Libertarian Party of Kansas Meeting is or head straight back. The meeting area is against the back wall in an area where dividers are capable of separating our space from the dining area.

When you arrive, make sure you have your brainstorming caps on! We will be creating an all-encompassing list of everything the Libertarian Party of Kansas needs to purchase for every Libertarian Party of Kansas group in the entire state along with the items the Party needs at every booth and events the Party may attend throughout its existence. Jeff Caldwell has been put in charge of coming up with the list and presenting it to the Libertarian Party of Kansas at the next Libertarian Party of Kansas Statewide Meeting on January 14th.

The list will be created at this meeting and finished on January 6th. The reason there are two meetings for this is to ensure everyone has the ability to attend at least one of the meetings. If you are unable to attend either meeting and have ideas for items needed, please text Jeff at 913-484-8404. The January 6th Meeting is at the same restaurant, Bo Lings. The address is 8973 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66212. The meeting is the same time: 6:45 PM - 8:45 PM. It would be amazing if you can make both!

You do not want to miss the Statewide Meeting on January 14th! Elected Libertarian Senator, Laura Ebke, and Elected Libertarian Mission City Councilman, Nick Schlossmacher, will be guest speakers. That meeting is at The Bar in Mission Kansas. The address is 6101 Johnson Dr, Mission, Kansas 66202. More event details for the Statewide Meeting are found here.

    In Person Statewide Meeting

Join us for a Statewide Libertarian meeting at The Bar in Mission, KS! Libertarians from all areas of the state are traveling to Mission to conduct an in person meeting that is open to the public.

Elected Libertarians, Senator Laura Ebke and Mission City Councilman Nick Schlossmacher, will be guest speakers at this event! Born in Manhattan, Kansas and now a resident of the city of Crete in the southeastern part of Nebraska, Ebke was elected to the Nebraska Legislature in 2014. Originally a member of the Republican Party who described herself as "a conservative libertarian," Ebke changed her registration to the Libertarian Party in 2016. She was thought to be the first Libertarian member of the legislature.

Following the 2016 legislative session, Governor Pete Ricketts addressed a state Republican convention, criticizing several Republican state legislators for failing to support his position on various issues, and calling for the election of more "platform Republicans" to the legislature. Ebke was one of thirteen legislators who signed a letter criticizing Ricketts for conduct that they described as placing partisanship ahead of principle. Shortly thereafter, Ebke changed her registration from the Republican to the Libertarian Party.

Schlossmacher works for VinSolutions, which is based in Mission, as a product manager. Originally from St. Paul, he studied electrical engineering at University of Minnesota. He relocated to Mission for work a few years ago. They are active volunteers with the Kansas City English Bulldog Rescue. Schlossmacher was elected in April 2016 and is Vice Chair of the Finance and Administration Committee and serves on the Dog Park Task Force.

Our guest speakers will speak first for about 30-40 minutes followed by the business meeting for the Libertarian Party of Kansas.

Let's get a bigger crowd at this protest to hold up signs and get more people signed up!
